Watch The New UK Trailer For Ridley Scott's THE COUNSELOR

Posted: 20 Aug 2013 04:00 PM PDT

The new UK trailer for the Ridley Scott directed / Cormac McCarthy penned thriller The Counselor focuses less on Javier Bardem's crazy hair and more on the actual story of the film. Which means lots more Fassbender. And more Fassbender is never a bad thing. When it comes to high end, awards bait movies that people might actually like, it really doesn't get much better than this. Huge movie stars, the first original script ever by a revered writer, and one of the strongest pure visual directors in the industry all getting together. So to say expectations have been huge is no overstatement but with every new scrap of footage released it just looks more and more like this is going to deliver. So did Prometheus,...

Posted: 20 Aug 2013 12:30 PM PDT

Yesterday, Todd shared with you an interesting bit about the Venice Film Fest allowing a limited number of spots in online screenings of some of their films. Earlier this year -- like the last few years -- both Tribeca and Sundance had online wings of their festivals. All smart moves, even if the selections were slim and the audience limited to a few hundred "seats". Well, TheWrap.com is hosting their own fest, and being an online outlet, their Shortlist fest of short films is taking place, well... online... which means you'll be able to watch their 12 finalists right now... or until August 29th. The selection of shorts is looking mighty prestigious with films having played and won awards at Sundance, Woodstock, AFI Fest, and...

From Giant Robots To Heaving Bosoms: Universal Wants Charlie Hunnam For 50 SHADES OF GREY

Posted: 20 Aug 2013 08:35 AM PDT

Give Pacific Rim and Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam this much: He's diversifying. Or, at least, he will be if the producers of the Sam Taylor-Johnson directed adaptation of your mom's favorite erotica, 50 Shades Of Grey, have anything to say about it. Already firmly ensconced within fanboy circles thanks to his breakout TV role and his ongoing relationship with director Guillermo Del Toro - who has also cast Hunnam for his upcoming Crimson Peak - Twitch has learned that Hunnam has emerged as producers' prime target to play, and I quote, "handsome, yet tormented billionaire" Christian Grey. And whose bosoms will be heaving? There have been long standing stories circulating regarding both Shailene Woodley and Felicity Jones and both remain in the running along...
