Prick - director Colin Berry's tale of a serial killer drifting silently through the streets of Toronto - back in June of 2011, the stellar photography evident in the trailer immediately capturing our attention. The film has been on a lengthy festival run ever since and with that now winding down Berry has opted to share the complete film with audiences online. Nine minutes well spent, I say, check the complete film below.A skilled practitioner in the art of murder experiences an unexpected bout of empathy which rocks the foundations of his already unstable mind....

Go Ape Over The New Phil Mucci Video For Pig Destroyer's THE DIPLOMAT

Posted: 26 Oct 2012 02:29 PM PDT

Playing off the look of Mr. Mucci's last video (for stoner gods High On Fire) comes this 2001 / Conquest Of The Planet Of The Apes inspired clip for grinders Pig Destroyer. Like the hard stuff or not, this visually arresting clip is an orgasm of color and bad ass content. To quote my good pal Marc Nocerino "Phil Mucci delivers yet again. This psychedelic bloodbath is both beautiful and horrific, while managing to convey an intelligent commentary.Whether or not you like grindcore, watch this video to see just how GOOD videos can be."You have been warned. Now be enlightened. And if you 'aint at work? PLAY LOUD!...

Finland Gets Edgy With Drug Thriller 8 BALL

Posted: 26 Oct 2012 02:00 PM PDT

Finland has, in many ways, felt a bit like the socially outcast step child in the current wave of Nordic crime films. Which makes sense, in a way, given that Finland is the one non-Scandinavian country in the region and quite distinct culturally - Finnish as a language is actually much closer to Estonian and Hungarian - but they're giving the genre their own distinct spin with upcoming drug thriller 8 Ball.Directed by Aku Louhimies and backed by Blind Spot Pictures (Iron Sky), 8 Ball looks to be a more encompassing view of the narcotic underground than normal, one that includes not only gangsters and guns but also addicts and their families in a package that promises to be edgy and provocative in a way...

Korean Comedy MY PHONE SEX PARTNER Gets Its Rocks Off With First Teaser

Posted: 26 Oct 2012 01:00 PM PDT

Korea seems strangely averse to raunch. And it's a surprising thing, really. Estimates say that a pretty astounding percentage of South Korea's GDP goes into the sex trade, which is illegal but ubiquitous, and classy sexual dramas are no issue at all so it's not like censors are prudish about sexual content, but despite the massive success of the Sex Is Zero films the full out sex comedy is largely absent from Korean cinema. Other than, you know, the upcoming effort My Phone Sex Partner, whose Korean title is shortened down to PS to avoid causing offense. Byun Sung-hyun directs with Ji Seong, Kim Ah-joong, and Shin So-yul starring. Check the first teaser below....

Watch Erik Matti's Chilling VESUVIUS Now!

Posted: 26 Oct 2012 12:30 PM PDT

Director Erik Matti needs no introduction to long time readers of Twitch. The director of diverse genre fare such as Pasiyam, Exodus and Gagamboy, Matti has long been a favorite around these parts. And while we wait for the chance to see his latest - Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles - on these shores he's cooked up a little something to tide us over.Matti is the fourth and final director in the YOMYOMF network's series of Silent Terror short films, four shorts from directors around Asia united by the absence of dialog. And they may very well have held back the best for last. The official synopsis - A timid man's mundane life takes a turn when he's awakened by a vision of the Virgin Mary...

Dominic Purcell Is A Time Traveling Hitman In Uwe Boll's IN THE NAME OF THE KING 3

Posted: 26 Oct 2012 12:00 PM PDT

Uwe Boll sent Dolph Lundgren tumbling through time for In The Name Of The King 2 and now he's doing the same with Dominic Purcell for the third outing in the series of video game adaptations. Hazen Kaine, an American contract killer living in Sofia, Bulgaria, gets more than he bargains for when he enters into a contract with the mob. One last job before he gets out and starts a new life for himself. The targets; the three children of royal billionaire Andon Dupont. Seems simple enough, or so he thought. Hazen apprehends the children and before he can blink an eye, a simple necklace worn by one of the children, send his life spireling back to medieval times. Hazen, now completely out of...

It's Uwe Boll Versus Wall Street In BAILOUT: THE AGE OF GREED

Posted: 26 Oct 2012 11:00 AM PDT

It seems increasingly clear that Uwe Boll is reinventing himself. After rising to infamy as the director of a string of video game adaptations - House Of The Dead, Alone In The Dark, Bloodrayne, and In The Name Of The King: A Dungeon Siege Tale were produced between 2003 and 2007 - Boll became far and away the director that fans most loved to hate, a status he has baited ever since with the much-publicized critic-boxing matches tied to the release of 2007 effort Postal serving as the crown on that particular phase of his career.Though Boll is still turning out Bloodrayne and In The Name Of The King sequels - and likely will continue to do so as long as they keep paying the...

Review: Lee Sang-woo's BARBIE Explores The Dark Side of Materialism

Posted: 26 Oct 2012 10:30 AM PDT

Though I have long been a fan of the aesthetic merits of Korean cinema, I also realize that there exists a dark side to Korean culture, a pervasive materialism that often favors beauty and perfection above all else. Designer goods and Western trappings have quickly become staples of life for modern urban Koreans. So as Korea has leapt forward in the rush of globalization, what has been lost? Director Lee Sang-woo, with his new feature Barbie, cuts right through the façade as he exposes the dark underbelly of contemporary consumerism. A young girl (Soon-young) takes care of her sister (Soon-ja) and their mentally-ill grandfather while their mercenary uncle (Mang-tek) hatches a plan to sell her to a wealthy American. The American arrives in town with...

Arnold Will Be CONAN Once Again

Posted: 26 Oct 2012 10:00 AM PDT

Sorry, Jason Momoa, you're one and done. Which - given the reasons why - is absolutely fantastic news for any fans of Conan The Barbarian out there, regardless of whether you enjoyed the 2011 version or not.And here it is: Arnold Schwarzenegger is returning to the role that launched him to stardom.Universal have announced that they are moving forward with The Legend Of Conan, a film that will ignore Conan The Destroyer and the 2011 Conan The Barbarian entirely and pick up the story as a direct sequel to John Milius' 1982 Conan The Barbarian. And Arnold is coming back to take up his crown and sword and play the part of Conan once again. Producer Fredrik Malmberg says:The original ended with Arnold on the...

Review: THE AMERICAN SCREAM Happily Haunts the Halloween Season

Posted: 26 Oct 2012 08:00 AM PDT

If you prefer Jack O' Lanterns to Christmas trees, The American Scream will feel like an overdose of Hallowe'en candy -- without the tummy ache. Revolving around a family in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, the film explores the (possibly) growing phenomenon of obsessively decorating homes with elaborate costumes and props appropriate to the occasion, and then inviting neighbors over to enjoy a scare or two. Skeletons, ghosts, witches and tombstones are particular favorites in these handcrafted haunted houses, which may take months to prepare, and can be a very expensive proposition for folks often strapped for cash. No admission is charged, so the only reward is the fleeting amusement expressed by crowds of strangers. The American Scream begins 30 days before Halloween as preparations are shifting into...

Review: THE LONELIEST PLANET Playfully Travels Until the Fun Stops

Posted: 26 Oct 2012 07:03 AM PDT

Displacing Tom Bissell's short story "Expensive Trips Nowhere" to the verdant hills of Georgia, Julia Loktev re-imagines the somber, transient tale of love, fissured by a momentary, yet infinitely projecting incident. Set against the lush, ex-Soviet highland, The Loneliest Planet follows two itinerant lovers as they backpack across Georgia's uncanny prominence, accompanied by a hired trails-man. The couple, played with comforting intimacy by Gael Garcia Bernal and Hani Furstenberg, radiate the easy to approach nature of well-honed travelers, seeking knowledge and experience, happy to quietly dance the night away beneath an unknown moon. Travelling, the group playfully shares space, turning the crags and vistas, toted ropes and industrial jetsam into games; manipulating the landscape into a far-off playground. Their guide, always watchful and accommodating, joins...
