Canadians got to celebrate Canada Day last Monday, while Americans were granted Thursday to celebrate Independence Day -- or, as it's known in my neighborhood, "set off the cheap firecrackers and make all the kids scream and dogs bark" day and night. At the multiplex, Disney sent out a reimagined Tonto along with a white-hatted hero to do battle with instant childhood favorites called "minions." The nation lost the Battle of Dybbøl to the Prussians and, in turn, two thirds of its land and population, 5,000 troops and a good measure of self-respect. | Second Trailer For Dustin Nguyen's Martial Arts Fantasy ONCE UPON A TIME IN VIETNAM Posted: 07 Jul 2013 01:00 PM PDT  With Dustin Nguyen's Once Upon A Time In Vietnam (Lua Phat) gearing up for Vietnamese release next month a second theatrical trailer has arrived online. And while this one does include a little more on the action side of things than what we've seen before the primary focus is clearly on the story elements of the fantasy oriented martial arts picture, so it's a good thing indeed that English subtitles are included for the international audience.This is the first time anyone in Vietnam has attempted this sort of picture and so far the results are looking good. One of those events is TIFF, the Romanian one. Transylvania International Film Festival is no more just Romanian business, it´s has gone worldwide now. | Hey, Scotland! See a Preview Screening of CITADEL This Tuesday! Posted: 07 Jul 2013 10:00 AM PDT  We here at Twitch are big fans of Ciaran Foy's feature film debut Citadel. It's an intense, tight horror film that examines a young man's crippling agoraphobia in the wake of a violent attack by strange youths that leaves his wife dead. Our own Brian Clark described it as "one of the most intense depictions of pure fear I've ever seen", and it was on my top 20 list of last year. Mixing monsters will the real-life terrors of poverty and isolation, it's both personal and incredibly relatable, particularly to those with knowledge of life on Britain's social housing estates, where crime is often rampant with seemingly no way out.The film is due for release on Friday, July 12, and there are four preview screenings on...
