It shows us some glimpses into the dark side of the showbiz industry and their obsessions with plastic surgery. Twitchvision: Jason Gorber Talks MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST and GODZILLA Posted: 02 Jun 2014 01:30 PM PDT Finally back from Cannes, and delving into what Hollywood can offer.MacFarlane's Western is clunky as hell, but there are some performers giving it their all, even if it does fall short compared to a film from 40 years earlier.Building on something from 60 years ago, Gareth Edwards' take on Godzilla continues his Spielberg fetish displayed in Monsters, but in a good way. Talk naturally dovetailed into discussion of his upcoming role in helping expand the Star Wars universe.Video Embedded below... |
STAR WARS VII Update: Lupita Nyong'o and Gwendoline Christie Join The Fray Posted: 02 Jun 2014 12:30 PM PDT The official Star Wars site has just announced that two particularly interesting actors have been cast in the upcoming filmLupita Nyong'o is perhaps the highest profile signing to date, having taken Hollywood by storm with her stunning, Oscar-winning performance in 12 Years A Slave. There had been rumours floating around for sometime about her inclusion, but it's only today that the news had been made official. An equally interesting choice is made by including Game Of Thrones actor Gwendoline Christie. The towering actress has shown great range on the show playing Brienne of Tarth, and it'll be very interesting to see just what kind of character she ends up playing. I think with both powerful performers, we're unlikely to see meek, shrinking violet characters in the... |

Preview: Open Roads: New Italian Cinema At FSLC Posted: 02 Jun 2014 09:00 AM PDT When we think of Italian cinema, we think of undisputed old masters - Fellini, Visconti, Rossellini, Antonioni, De Sica, Bertolucci and so on. But for the longest time, Italian cinema had fallen out of favor. Sure, there have been flourish of genre films in the 60s - 80s. But the Italian public's national pride and interests in their film industry subsided. Even the locals pffffttted away my inquiries about current Italian cinema when I was attending an art festival in Ravenna, in 2005. Back then, they were all about Kim Ki-Duk and Asian cinema. But after the rampant political corruption and the infamous "boom boom" era of Berlusconi came to a close, and regional support for the arts growing, it seems Italian cinema is finally... |
