Bejoy Nambiar burst onto the Indian film scene back in 2011 with his crime spree film, Shaitan. With the help of some pretty impressive critical reaction the film managed to more than triple its budget in box office receipts, opening some eyes at bigger production houses. Among those interested was Reliance Big Pictures, who are producing his latest effort, the bilingual triptych/diptych David.  As is common in an increasingly interconnected India, David was shot simultaneously in Hindi and Tamil language versions. Most of the supporting cast is the same, however the only lead to appear in both versions is Vikram (Kanthaswamy, Deiva Thirumagal, Aniyaan). Restless Spanish talent Pedro Almodovar went about as dark as he ever has with his last picture - the fabulous The Skin I Live In - and it would appear he's looking to cleanse his palette from that experience with something far more light and frothy with his next effort, Los Amantes Pasajeros (I'm So Excited). A musical comedy set aboard a plane that may or may not be about to crash this is a bold and colorful song and dance picture and Almodovar is pulling out the stops with the picture's first teaser. The kid with a shotgun.One of the odder things to cross our desk in recent days, upcoming Japanese effort Kid's Police is a note perfect recreation of gritty 1970s gangster flicks - think Fukasaku - with one key difference.
