"The Crimson Horror" is a fantastic example of just how much fun Doctor Who can be when it really keeps its story focussed and aims to deliver as an exciting adventure that's full of intrigue and laughs. This is easily the strongest script from Mark Gatiss so far (particularly impressive as it comes so soon after "Cold War," which is another great episode) and it moves with a wonderful pace while being funnier and more involving than I've found this series to be capable of in recent weeks.You may (or, more likely, may not) remember that I greatly enjoyed the most recent Christmas special, "The Snowmen." Yes, you are quite correct. The poster for Dmitri Korobkin's The Treasure Of Lake Kaban is hysterically horrible. The dog peeking in from the side is a particularly horrid (by which I mean amazing) touch in that department. But the film itself - if the trailer is to be trusted - actually looks quite good.A time hopping fantasy adventure, The Treasure of Lake Kaban follows a Russian playboy and a Tatar girl searching for a treasure lost for centuries following the sack of Kazan by Ivan The Terrible. Production values are very solid on this one, the overall feel landing somewhere in the area of Stephen Sommers' The Mummy. Take a look at the trailer below....
