This morning, Vietnamese netizens went wild when a version of Johnny Nguyen's banned Cho Lon was leaked on YouTube. Only a few minutes later, that video was taken down. However, many people were able to download the 90-minute banned film and share it online. Soon after, Facebook was flooded with comments. One humorous Facebooker even said: "This will be the most-watched movie of 2013 in Vietnam."Nobody knows for sure who leaked the film, but an investigation is underway. Charlie Nguyen published the following comment:I am absolutely shocked and sad as if someone was killing my child. Earlier today, the special live internet showcase for the highly anticipated Korean/American sci-fi thriller Snowpiercer with director Bong Joon-ho and Korean cast Song Kang-ho and Ko A-sung was broadcast online. Following the live event, several promotional videos that were launched during the showcase have been released. These include an animation clip that tells the very beginning of the story, a character featurette with cast interviews and a behind-the-scenes video that provides an inside look at the elaborate train set. Based on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige, by Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette, the film marks Bong's English-language debut with a cast that includes Chris Evans, Song Kang-ho, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, Ewen Bremner, Alison Pill, John Hurt and Ed Harris. When Jay Gatsby looked out from that dock he saw Daisy's green... screen. At least that's what the VFX reel of before and after shots from The Great Gatsby reveals -- that one hell of a lot of visual effects work went into the film, and even in places where I thought what I was seeing was more or less real.At the end of June the VFX supervisor on the film, Chris Godfrey posted this reel on his Vimeo account, but without an embed code.
