THE HUNDRED YEAR OLD MAN WHO CLIMBED OUT THE WINDOW AND DISAPPEARED: The Big Screen Version Of The Hit Novel Gets An Absolutely Fabulous Trailer

Posted: 05 Nov 2013 10:00 AM PST

Imagine, if you will, that we're back in 1994 and instead of Robert Zemeckis the job of directing Forrest Gump had been handed to Jean-Pierre Jeunet who had somehow blasted the 2001, Amelie era version of himself back in time to take the job. And then imagine that instead of shrimp and romance tying the modern day storyline of the film together that the here and now was occupied with a hundred year old man stealing a suitcase crammed full of drug money and set off cross country with it. Presto! You've got the Felix Herngren directed adaptation of Jonas Jonasson's hugely popular - over three million copies sold - novel The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window And Disappeared. Here's how...

Review: THE VISITOR Defies Logic With Excitement, Awe, And Mystery

Posted: 05 Nov 2013 09:00 AM PST

Holy cow, what a weird movie. Instantly earning a place in my personal "WTF Hall of Fame," The Visitor is a work of cracked genius. Or, it's a very bad motion picture with flashes of accidental inspiration. Either way, it's too vividly imagined to be dismissed out of hand simply because it makes no narrative sense and appears to have been assembled by a crew of lunatics on a weekend bender. Here is what I have gathered from a single viewing: John Huston is the titular character, who is not of this earth. He is very interested in young Katy (Paige Connor), a brat of a child with strong psychopathic tendencies. (As an example, when she accidentally shoots her mother, Katy shrugs.) On the other...

Run In Fear From THE WINDMILL MASSACRE Promo!

Posted: 05 Nov 2013 06:00 AM PST

Look out Holland, things are about to get bloody. After serving as a producer on Richard Raaphorst's Frankenstein's Army, writer-director Nick Jongerius set out to create his own exercise in horror with The Windmill Massacre. Envisioned as an eventual English language feature Jongerius has started off instead with a Dutch language short film as a proof of concept to demonstrate that this sort of thing can be done in the Netherlands at all. And now it's up to you to judge whether he's correct because the short is finished in both a 12 minute version - which is being held back for festivals and industry use at the moment - and a 4 minute version, which you'll find below. Here's how Jongerius describes his creation:The Windmill...

EXCLUSIVE Interview: Bong Joon-ho On The Weinsteins, Tarantino And SNOWPIERCER

Posted: 05 Nov 2013 04:00 AM PST

One of the best - and for the vast majority of people still hotly-anticipated - films of the year is Bong Joon-ho's fantastic science fiction thriller, Snowpiercer, in which the sole survivors of a nuclear winter reside within a single train, and attempt to overthrow the totalitarian rulers who control its engine.Last week, Bong made a brief stop-over in Hong Kong, where he gave a few interviews to help market Snowpiercer's debut later this month as the closing film of the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival, before it goes on general release on 28 November. Much has been discussed on Twitch perhaps more than anywhere else about the decision made by The Weinstein Company (who will be distributing the film in North America, the UK...
