THE MONKEY KING: New Teaser Features Donnie Yen In Action. And Makeup. Posted: 01 Nov 2013 03:00 PM PDT Is this how people want to experience the epic Chinese folk tale Journey To The West? The reactions to the first trailer for Soi Cheang's Donnie Yen and Chow Yun Fat starring kung fu fantasy extravaganza The Monkey King were sharply divided - to say the least - and this brand new teaser isn't likely to change anyone's mind. The new offering is brief - clocking in at thirty seconds - and devoted entirely to the Donnie Yen / Monkey King character. What say you? Yay or nay? Check it out below.... |

Lars Von Trier's NYMPHOMANIC Gets Down And Dirty With Bach In The Latest (And Totally NSFW) Clip Posted: 01 Nov 2013 12:30 PM PDT When last we checked in with Lars Von Trier's Nymphomaniac, we got a swatch of posters that were no less than... striking. Before that we got a clip from chapter 4 of the film that was far more somber, and thus, far less provocative than previous promotional material. And now with a taste of Chapter 5, it gets back to the rather raw side, no less, with Bach as inspiration for the sex acts depicted herein. Yes, this clip is so NSFW that Youtube took it down. Chapter 5: The Little Organ School A chorale prelude by Bach: Three voices each with its own character, but in complete harmony. In other words: POLYPHONY The nymphomaniac is easily inspired, and acts it out.... |
Subtlety, Thy Name Is NURSE 3D. Check The New Poster. Posted: 01 Nov 2013 12:00 PM PDT Yep, that there is a poster that knows exactly what it wants to accomplish and sets straight to doing so. Review: THE BROKEN CIRCLE BREAKDOWN, A Gloriously Devastating Bluegrass Masterpiece Posted: 01 Nov 2013 08:01 AM PDT "You'll rue the day that you were born. For givin' me the devil cause I wouldn't hoe corn." This is the stuff of old country music, the purest of joy taken, perhaps from mistakes made, perhaps just fate teasing and cruelly taking away. I have not been this emotionally affected by a film since Lars Von Trier's Dancer in the Dark, but where that film is angry, manipulative, and often recklessly dishonest in its melodrama (which I also love) for the purpose of provocation, Felix Van Groeningen's The Broken Circle Breakdown is earnest, warm, and utterly human - but no less calculated. In terms of an emotional endurance test, this is as powerful as anything I have seen, and yet it is an earnest, completely... |
