Adam Wingard And Simon Barrett Will Remake Kim Jee-woon's I SAW THE DEVIL

Posted: 16 Sep 2014 01:05 PM PDT

Sure. The news about this came out yesterday, via The Wrap but if there is one readership that would have informed, if not passionate, opinions about this, it would have to be the Twitch readers. Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett, the director and writer of such hits as A Horrible Way To Die, You're Next and The Guest -- which is coming to cinemas in the U.S. tomorrow (Wednesday) -- have begun working on an English-language remake of Kim Jee-woon's violent Korean-language thriller I Saw The Devil. The report states that Barrett is working on his script and Wingard is speaking to talent. Producer Adi Shanker went online a few days back to voice his passionate support for Wingard and Barrett. You will find that video below. There...

Interview: THE BATTERY's Jeremy Gardner And Adam Cronheim Talk Zombies, Indie Filmmaking Challenges, And Brawling With WALKING DEAD's Rick Grimes

Posted: 16 Sep 2014 11:01 AM PDT

Have you seen The Battery yet? Surely you've heard of it. It's that one anti-zombie zombie movie everyone's talking about on the Information Superhighway (fancy way of saying "Internet."). No hyperbole here -- it's the coolest and most unconventional zombie movie I've seen in years. The Battery stars Jeremy Gardner -- who also wrote, directed and co-produced the film -- and Adam Cronheim (co-producer) as two baseball players stuck in a zombie apocalypse. Instead of the usual zombie attack after zombie attack, the film spends a majority of its running time focusing on the banter between the two -- chances are high they will kill each other before a zombie does. This is one of the reasons why why we love it -- it's a new take on...

Review: THE GUEST, More Magnificent Midnight Madness

Posted: 16 Sep 2014 10:02 AM PDT

With last year's release of You're Next and contributions to the V/H/S and ABCs of Death horror anthologies, director-writer duo Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett are quickly becoming two of the most exciting filmmakers working in the genre space right now. This trend absolutely continues with their latest feature, a guns-blazing throwback called The Guest. Equal parts creepy, slow-burn horror and bloody, balls-out actioner, Wingard and Barrett again prove that best kind of genre movie is the one with which you can have the most outright fun. Set in a small prairie town, the story opens amongst a family grieving the recent loss of a military son. Dad Spencer (Leland Orser) is a middle management hack while Mom Laura (Sheila Kelly) is a lonely housewife...

AI WEIWEI THE FAKE CASE: Out Now On VOD

Posted: 16 Sep 2014 07:00 AM PDT

Danish director Andreas Johnsen's documentary Ai Weiwei The Fake Case follows the acclaimed Chinese artist from his release after an 81-day internment, through his house arrest, and his fight against trumped up tax fraud charges by the Chinese Government. The case is dubbed The Fake Case, which carries multiple meanings. The name of Weiwei's design company is Fake (Fake - Fa (development) Ke (class)) and considering the false allegations against Weiwei calling it The Fake Case is also appropriate. But it is not simply a money issue. Weiwei must also fight these allegations to protect his name and his legacy. At the beginning of his house arrest you can see how much the internment affected him. He has difficulty sleeping and looks exhausted. Weiwei also finds...

Matt Damon And Paul Greengrass BOURNE Again?

Posted: 16 Sep 2014 05:00 AM PDT

Although Universal is still developing a possible sequel to the Jeremy Renner spin-off The Bourne Legacy, with Justin Lin attached to direct, the studio has also taken serious positive steps towards resurrecting the original Bourne franchise, according to movie news website Deadline. If Deadline's sources are to be believed, the studio has begun making deals to get Matt Damon on board again as Jason Bourne, and Paul Greengrass to write and direct a new instalment. If true, this would be remarkable news indeed. Greengrass directed the second and third parts, 2004's The Bourne Supremacy and 2007's The Bourne Ultimatum, and has always stated that for him, the story was now finished, and he had no interest in directing another one. Damon has also been very vocal about...
