Late last year, we got a taste of the Danish martial arts short Echoes of a Ronin, in the form of a gallery of images. Now, the film is finished, and you can watch it in its entirety here, with English subtitles included. Directed by Shaky Gonzalez and starring David Sakurai, Echoes of a Ronin tells a familiar story of greed, revenge and honor, only now with Danish restaurants as a backdrop. It's a stylish effort with some great fight choreography by Tim Man (of Ninja 2 fame), and with a running time of 20 minutes it doesn't even get a chance to outlast its welcome. Pretty Packaging: Take A Look At The Walerian Borowczyk Collection

Earlier this year, UK distributor Arrow Films announced they were planning to release newly remastered editions of Walerian Borowczyk's films, both on Blu-ray and DVD, as part of their Arrow Academy label. These releases would include several of his longer theatrical films and a collection of shorts. And then they announced something else: a boxset of all these titles, combined with a book, and limited to only a 1000 pieces. This release was called Camera Obscura: The Walerian Borowczyk Collection, and it was finally released this week. And it is undoubtedly one of the finest releases this year.
